In August 2009, Mankatoans Eric (pictured) and Christie Nelson embarked on a 14-country, 14,000-mile trip on a tandem bicycle. On Wednesday the pair returned to Mankato, making their first stop in Carol Nelson’s fifth-grade classroom at Hoover Elementary. As Eric’s mother, Carol’s students have been following the couple around the world.
