Officials in North Mankato expect to know by fall how much it will cost to recertify the soundness of the city’s flood walls. The recertification is being required by the Federal Emergency Management Agency and could cost local taxpayers several hundred thousand dollars as North Mankato, Mankato and South Bend look for ways to recoup the expense of the study.
