Art Exhibits Sept. 27-Oct. 3

Arts Center of St. Peter -- Wood Engravers’ Network Relief Engraving Exhibit through Oct. 14 at 315 S. Minnesota Ave., St. Peter. “Pints and a Prints Panel Discussion” 5-7 p.m. Oct. 13. Hours: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 1-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Blue Earth County Historical Society’s Heritage Center --  Exhibit of Liz Madsen’s monoprints and historical Free Press front pages this month at 415 Cherry St., Mankato. Hours: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, and Thursday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

Blue Earth County Library, Mankato -- Daughters of American Revolution exhibit in the wall cases and Boy Scouts of America featured in floor displays this month at 100 E. Main St. Exhibit may be viewed during library hours: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Wednesday and Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Brown County Historical Society Museum -- U.S. Army-Dakota War display at 2 N. Broadway, New Ulm. Hours: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

Carnegie Art Center --  “Best Seats in the House: The Art of the Chair” from the private collection of Lynda Jacobsen through Saturday at 120 S. Broad St. Hours: 1-7 p.m. Thursday, 1- 4 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

Centennial Student Union Gallery -- Master of Arts exhibit by Charles Benson through Wednesday on lower level of Minnesota State University student union. Hours: 6:30 a.m. to midnight weekdays, 6:30 a.m. to midnight weekdays .

Conkling Gallery -- Ceramics exhibit by Heather Nameto-Bren through Oct. 9 at 139 Nelson Hall on MSU campus. Hours: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays-Fridays.

Emy Frentz Arts Guild Gallery -- Works by Margie Larson through Oct. 17 at 523 S. Second St., Mankato. Hours: Noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, and 4-8 p.m. Thursday.

Hillstrom Museum of Art, St. Peter -- Highlights from the Swedish National collections through Dec. 2 in the lower level of C. Charles Jackson Campus Center at Gustavus Adolphus College. Reception 6-8 p.m. Tuesday. Hours: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1- 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Hosanna Lutheran Church Gallery -- Watercolors by Charlotte Laxen this month at 105 Hosanna Ave., Mankato. Hours: 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays and during worship services on weekends.

The 410 Project -- “Home on the Range,” an exhibit curated by Curt Germundson through Oct. 19 at 523 S. Front St. Hours: 2-6 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and 1-4 p.m. Sunday.

Ylvisaker Fine Arts Center -- Works by cartographer and quilter Shelley Cords-Swanson through Friday at 700 Luther Drive, Bethany Lutheran College. Exhibit of paintings by Bethany/MSU graduate Paul Trapp opens Monday, with reception 7 p.m. Oct. 4. Gallery hours are 1-9 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 1-8 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Waseca Art Center -- “Favorite Photographs From a Career in Journalism” by John Cross of St. Peter through Oct. 31 at 410 State Street North. Hours: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
