Art Exhibits May 3-9

 

 

Arts Center of St. Peter -- Paintings by Bryan Holland and Lifeworks show. exhibits through May 13 at 315 S. Minnesota Ave., St. Peter. Hours: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and 1-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Blue Earth County Historical Society’s Heritage Center -- “Valley Scenes Remembered” by Sue Mueller through June at 415 Cherry St., Mankato. Hours: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

Brown County Historical Society Museum -- Century Farm exhibit, recent additions to New Ulm’s Wanda Gag collection, “Stitch in Time” quilt show and some items that will be part of U.S. Army-Dakota War display at 2 N. Broadway, New Ulm. Hours: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

Carnegie Art Center -- Prairie Lakes Regional Juried Art Exhibit through June 8 at 120 S. Broad St. Reception 1-3 p.m. May 20. Hours: 1-7 p.m. Thursday, 1- 4 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

Centennial Student Union Gallery -- “Ceaseless: National Juried Show on Censorship” through Saturday in lower level of Minnesota State University student union. Hours: 6:30 a.m. to midnight Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to midnight Saturday and 10 a.m. to midnight Sunday.

Emy Frentz Arts Guild Gallery -- Paintings by Ann Judkins through May 9 at 523 S. Second St., Mankato. Hours: Noon to 4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, and 4-8 p.m. Thursday.

Farmamerica -- “Treasures of the Land” exhibit through Saturday at Farmamerica in Waseca. Exhibit may be viewed during center’s regular hours.

Hillstrom Museum of Art, St. Peter -- Senior Studio Arts Majors Exhibit through May 27 in the lower level of C. Charles Jackson Campus Center at Gustavus Adolphus College. Reception 4-6 p.m. Saturday. Hours: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and 1-5 p.m. weekends.

Hosanna Lutheran Church Gallery -- “Book of Revelation” watercolor illustrations by Gail Lindfors and works by Wayne Buck, Peggy Draheim, Margaret Gatchell, Karen Peters and Hacklyn Schimmel through June 21 at 105 Hosanna Ave., Mankato. Hours: 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. weekdays.

North Mankato Taylor Library -- “Work for Water Fine Arts Contest” exhibit through May 18 at 1001 Belgrade Ave. Exhibit may be viewed during the library’s regular hours.

Treaty Site History Center -- Minnesota Historical Society traveling exhibit: “Minnesota Disasters” through May 28 near Highway 169 North, on the edge of St. Peter. Hours 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1-4 p.m. Sunday.

Waseca Art Center -- Exhibit of art created by local elementary students this month at 410 State St. N. Hours: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

Ylvisaker Fine Arts Center -- Annual student art show through May 10 at 700 Luther Drive, Bethany Lutheran College. Opening reception 7 p.m. today. Hours: 1-9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 1-8 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
