MANKATO —
St. Clair native Ami Inoue, a dental student at Creighton University, spent four weeks in the Dominican Republic village doing the kind of work she’s dreamed about since she was a kid.
“I can’t remember a time when I didn’t want to be a dentist,” she said this week.
She got her chance this summer to do the kind of work she hopes to do for many years to come. During the course of four weeks, she and 11 other Creighton dental students immersed themselves in Dominican culture. They lived with local families and spent their days providing dental care to village residents.
