Which of the two above statements do you believe?
Pelosi, Senator Harry Reid, and President Obama all believe that “the governed” will learn to love the health care legislation once it is passed, even though a majority of Americans oppose it now. This elitist attitude expresses the idea that these enlightened leaders know best and that the ignorant public masses will eventually appreciate the fact that it had health care legislation forced upon them.
These leaders have forgotten that their power is derived from the consent of the governed.
How is it possible that the Democratic leadership could think it’s okay to impose tax burdens and health care regulations on every American when only a small percentage of Americans support this legislation?
This full steam ahead attitude without public support shows a complete disregard for the American public. Worse yet, it shows contempt for the principles that have built and sustained this nation.
If this legislation passes, I’m sure that we will indeed thank our superior, enlightened leaders later. At the ballot box.
