Your View: Children are not sole reason for marriage

In reference to Victor Roth’s recent letter to the editor: If I understand your letter correctly, you are saying the only reason people should marry is to reproduce and bring more children into an already over-populated world.

You are saying that people, who for whatever reason — medical or physical — are unable to have children, should not get married.

If you had a daughter who was unable to have children for medical reasons, would you tell her, “sorry, you can’t get married, as you cannot have children”?

Also, what about elderly people who marry for companionship? Should they not be allowed to marry either?
