— A great democracy is created around majority rule. Giving too much power to a minority of voters (or as in the U.S. Senate, a minority of senators) compromises the power of the electorate.
As is the case with health care reform, a minority of senators is holding up the whole show.
I would recommend doing away with the supreme majority in the Senate, as all it does is create stalemate. A simple majority will do.
Therefore, I say reconciliation now. The next election will let us know who was right.
I’d say the Tea Party’ers are in for an eye-opening experience.
