Your View: We need a choice regarding judges

— This is an election year. It has always bothered me to see judges' names on the ballot who are running unopposed.

That is not a vote. You need a choice, yes or no, this or that to have an election.

What protects the citizen's rights? The law. Who interprets the law or sets precedent law? The judges. And do we elect judges? They would have you think so, but the answer is no.

Referring to The Free Press May 8 article, The Commissions on Judicial Selection has a choice and the serving governor does the choosing, not the people through an election.

In this political system of checks and balances, the check has bounced and we have lost our balance.

The judges wink and nod at the process as they rule the voter out of order.
