The tragedy in Aurora, Colo., brings to my mind, and is only my opinion, that this is the by-product of sin and our sin-infested world.
There is violence on TV, violence in video games, and even violence in our own homes (the three little girls killed by their father in Wisconsin) and on the streets (gangs and drive-by shootings that have become so common now).
I was fortunate to be raised in a Christian home and brought to church to hear God’s word nearly every week. I know that even though some people are raised in a Christian way they may choose differently in life. As I grew up and am an older adult now, I stuck to those Christian values but the way things are accepted in our society today makes me even question my own beliefs about what is really right and what is really wrong?
When I have those feelings, I turn to the Bible and God’s word — what is written in that book still applies to the 20th Century although there are many people who do not believe that. It is hard being a Christian in a world and society that tolerates just about everything and goes against God’s true word.
The Bible is not any one religion, it is God’s word given to us to guide us in our everyday life.
I pray that this young man will turn to Jesus, accept Him as his Savior and repent of this terrible act that he has committed. I pray for peace to come to all the families involved.
