As a follow-up from previous letters regarding the silo and its new paint job with a name of business and logo on it, I wonder why the Minneosta Department of Transportation and the Nicollet County Board of Adjustment and Appeals have not stated the month, date and year that set up the zoning as a historic preservation district.
I would guess the Nicollet Board has already told the assessor to review the tax valuation of the restored look of both the barn and silo, for increased tax valuation.
Back to common sense: The barn and silo were there long before the four-lane Highway 169. The barn and silo, now restored, are saving our past history and are a remembrance for grandparents to sit down with grandchildren and tell them what it was like in the past years.
Yes, the silo and barn are of decades past.
A big thank you to the Davis family and Cambria for restoring the structures.
A “Your Views” letter published Aug. 22 in The Free Press more or less stated that Davis broke the law. The writer also brought up politics in the letter.
Where was politics involved?
Once again, call MnDOT and Nicollet County Board of Adjustment and Appeals in support of the silo and barn as it is now.

Recent opinion polls show that less than one-third of Americans have a favorable opinion of Mitt Romney, and almost half, 49 percent, have an unfavorable opinion — a number that skyrocketed 15 percentage points in one month, according to a January ABC News/Washington Post poll.
