Here’s an exact quote from Republlican Rep. Michelle Bachmann regarding the “partition” of Iraq by Iran, a position she later had to “adjust”: “They are going to get half of Iraq and that is going to be a terrorist safe haven zone where they can go ahead and bring about more attacks in the Middle East region and then to come against the United States because we are their avowed enemy.
I guess I can forgive her for the run-on sentence structure since that’s probably how her conservative handlers wrote it for her on the index card.
The only thing that matters is that she got all those bases covered to justify a widening of the war — and in one breath, no less.
I have no doubt Iranian factions are involved in Iraq in some way — our invasion saw to that. lt would be refreshing, however, if Bachmann would stop embarrassing herself — and the citizens who voted for her — with this kind of wide-eyed, earnest spin at a time when we grownups have lots of important decisions to make.

My View: Romney didn't build companies, he made money for investors
Recent opinion polls show that less than one-third of Americans have a favorable opinion of Mitt Romney, and almost half, 49 percent, have an unfavorable opinion — a number that skyrocketed 15 percentage points in one month, according to a January ABC News/Washington Post poll.
