Your View — Walz for local interests, not special interests
In the last week, we have seen two letters saying Congressman Tim Walz can be bought and sold through campaign donations. However, I just cannot find the information to support this.
Walz has always been a strong advocate for Minnesotans in Washington and not the other way around. He recently secured several million dollars through the stimulus package to help rebuild and improve highways and municipal airports throughout southern Minnesota. Specifically the St. Peter Highway 169 project, according to MnDOT, will create almost 300 jobs. Walz has also requested $100 million for the Highway 14 project and airport work in Luverne, Windom and Blue Earth.
Walz is doing everything he can to help Minnesotans recover from a devastating economic downturn and move ahead toward a brighter future. Unlike our own Minnesota governor who is going to unallot 3,155 jobs at a time when we need to add jobs.
Walz and his family are close with the 1st District. His family lives here and he is here most weekends.
