I appreciate Lynn Solo’s defense of Rep. Tim Walz in a letter to this paper. I taught with Tim at West and can attest to his dedication and hard work while employed there.
I feel, however, a correction is in order. It was Rick Sutton who as head coach succeeded in turning the Mankato West football program around in the 1990s. West football teams won two state championships (1999 and 2002) under the leadership of Sutton and his assistant coaches. Walz was one of the assistants during that first state championship season.

My View: Romney didn't build companies, he made money for investors
Recent opinion polls show that less than one-third of Americans have a favorable opinion of Mitt Romney, and almost half, 49 percent, have an unfavorable opinion — a number that skyrocketed 15 percentage points in one month, according to a January ABC News/Washington Post poll.
