Last week, Mankato business leaders and state senators across the state celebrated energy efficiency policy as a driver for jobs and economic competitiveness in manufacturing and industry.
While we recognize the difficult path ahead in enacting the Clean Energy Jobs legislation pending in Congress, we appreciate Sen. Amy Klobuchar’s early leadership on energy efficiency and renewable technology.
As the bill moves to the Senate floor, we look to Klobuchar to continue championing the Senate’s strongest Renewable Electricity Standard and working with her colleagues on energy efficiency standards.
Both of these policies are already in effect in our state, and driving job creation today. Clean energy and energy efficiency policies also promote energy independence, and put America back in control of its energy future.
Mankato and Minnesota should support Klobuchar’s efforts.

My View: Romney didn't build companies, he made money for investors
Recent opinion polls show that less than one-third of Americans have a favorable opinion of Mitt Romney, and almost half, 49 percent, have an unfavorable opinion — a number that skyrocketed 15 percentage points in one month, according to a January ABC News/Washington Post poll.
