Your View: Bus driver acted for children’s safety

Assault? I don’t think so. OK, it could of been handled better maybe. (Regarding the case of the Blue Earth bus driver slapping a misbehaving 6-year-old.)

If that had been my child, I would have been apologizing to the students, the driver, etc., for my child’s poor behavior.

This driver stopped what is definitely called an assault or assaults by the student.

If this child had been an adult being arrested and he was spitting on an officer that alone would be an assault charge, as all kinds of diseases could be transmitted.

There are a lot of things most of us don’t know about this case but fifth degree assault charges for the driver? I don’t think so. Not that anyone wants or advocates adults running around slapping six year olds.

I’m guessing she finally got his attention and stopped his extreme behavior. And quite frankly, sometimes that “is what is needed.”

The driver, after all, didn’t start this. She just wanted to get all the students to their destination safely.
