Your View: Marriages without offspring differ from God’s plan

There are those who are demanding equal rights by speaking against the marriage amendment. They want equal rights by changing the meaning of the word “marriage,” which for centuries has followed the biblical meaning of a man and a woman, male and female being joined together to produce and preserve a society. They want their own lifestyle, which does not produce and preserve a society.

Even those who are married but want no offspring are the same. They are not carrying out what the Lord has told, “Be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth” with the egg from the woman and the sperm from the man, that the Lord has provided. That responsibility to preserve is still there even if the meaning of the word “marriage” is changed.

Even the pride of lions knows that to preserve its pride the male and the female must reproduce or no pride.

Refusing to produce while wanting all the benefits of marriage is not preserving a society to have life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Expecting others to reproduce and provide so individuals can satisfy what they want is not providing equal responsibility, nor does it carry out what the Lord says, “Be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth.”

Voting “yes” on the marriage amendment is keeping God’s historical way of preserving and building a future for our nation. It cannot be improved upon.
