MANKATO — A Mankato woman, 28, who allegedly attempted to pass three poorly faked $20 bills at a Mankato convenience store last month has been charged with a gross misdemeanor.
An employee at a Quick Mart store called police at about 10:30 p.m. Feb. 8 to report someone had attempted to use the bills to pay for gas. The employee said a woman attempted to use one $20 bill, which was obviously fake, to pay for $10 in gas. When that bill was denied, the woman tried to use two more fake bills.
Corinna F. Nielsen told police she didn’t know they were fake. She said she received them from a man she only knew as “Fox.”
