Fire destroys Madison Lake home

The Free Press

MADISON LAKE — A fire Saturday afternoon destroyed an unoccupied Madison Lake home.

The Robin Winter family was not home at the time of the blaze, which Madison Lake firefighters responded to at 2:48 p.m.

Fire Chief Kevin Kennedy said high winds hampered efforts to contain the fire, which damaged some siding on an adjacent home.

Kennedy said the fire appeared to have started in the garage area.

A state fire marshal will investigate.
