MANKATO — A resident’s tip to the Mankato Department of Public Safety has led to the arrest of five Mankato residents in conjunction with the burglary of a Stadium Road business earlier this week.
Justin Edmund Peterson, 19, along with three 16-year-old males and a 15-year-old male were arrested about 3:45 p.m. Wednesday.
Two juveniles were arrested at the scene. Another, who had had fled on foot, was apprehended later. Peterson and the other juvenile were identified through the investigation.
The business at 340 Stadium Road was burglarized Sunday. A resident provided a tip that it was going to be targeted again for the second time in three days. Based on that information, police set up surveillance at the business. Officers witnessed the suspects as they broke in.
Charges are being requested through the Blue Earth County attorney's office to include burglary and criminal damage to property.
The initial burglary is still under investigation and charges will be requested when the investigation is complete.
