MANKATO —
Wiffle ball seems so simple. Hit a plastic ball with a plastic bat, that’s all. Six balls and two strikes. No base running. Easy, right?
Well, not really. Teams in Saturday’s The Big Wiff wiffle ball tournament at the Miracle League field at Caswell Park discovered it’s a whole different ball game, but still a lot of fun. The fundraiser for the Miracle League of Minnesota brought seven teams to the ball park for a day of wiffle ball and fun. Teams earned an extra run at the beginning of each game by winning a bubble gum blowing contest.
The winning team of Saturday’s round robin tournament gets to play the winners of the other nine locations today in Blaine for the championship.
