ELYSIAN —
A boat carrying five duck hunters capsized on Lake Elysian early
Saturday morning, leaving one young man dead.
The body of Brady Hruska, 17, of Waterville was recovered early Saturday
afternoon.
The Waseca County Sheriff's Department said the boat capsized about 200 feet
from shore. Other hunters on the lake and on shore heard shouts for help and
called 911 at 6:10 a.m.
Hunters on the lake were able to rescue four of the hunters and take them to
shore. They reportedly sustained no serious injuries.
Hruska was on the Waterville-Elysian-Morristown football team that was
scheduled to play in a playoff game Saturday night.
Assisting at the scene were the Le Sueur County Sheriff's dive team, State
Patrol helicopter, and police and fire rescue personnel from several area
communities and counties.
