MANKATO — The final chapter of defunct Ruttles restaurant in St. Peter will end with its razing.
The Nicollet County Board on Tuesday opted to level the familiar downtown fixture, which sits on property it bought last year for future expansion of the county courthouse campus.
The razing could come in the next few weeks at a contracted price of $19,500.
“Personally, I’d like to see us preserve and re-use it...but considering how much it costs to maintain it that just doesn’t make sense,” commissioner Judy Hanson said.
