MANKATO —
Police are looking for a man who allegedly raped a woman he knew after she refused his Facebook requests to meet with her.
An officer was sent to the McElroy Residence Community dorms at Minnesota State University after receiving a report of the sexual assault at about 10:15 p.m. Sunday. The woman reported she had been assaulted by 20-year-old Quyumba Ontario Wilson, who also lives in the McElroy dorms.
The woman told the officer Wilson started contacting her early in the day on Facebook. When she ignored him, he created a new Facebook account with a different name and started sending her messages again.
She eventually agreed to talk to Wilson on the telephone even though Wilson had a court order to have no contact with her. That order was a result of a domestic assault conviction in August.
They talked for about two hours. After she ended the conversation, she attempted to leave her dorm room and found Wilson standing at the door, according to the criminal complaint filed Tuesday.
Wilson forced her into the room, took her keys and cell phone from her, attempted to strangle her several times and punched her in the stomach, the complaint said. She was then forced to have sex with him.
The victim “stated Wilson held her in the room for over an hour and refused to let her leave or call for help,” the complaint said. “She also had to beg for him to let her go, and she feared that if he did not that he would have killed her.”
Wilson also allegedly changed the passwords on the victim’s e-mail, Facebook account and other computer accounts so she couldn’t have access to them. He also allegedly took her iPod and dorm keys so he could access her room at any time.
A warrant was issued for Wilson’s arrest Tuesday when he was charged with two felony counts of kidnapping, two felony counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and one felony count of stalking. According to the complaint, Wilson told the victim he would resist arrest.
In addition to the August domestic assault conviction, Wilson was arrested in November 2009 after he cut someone with a knife outside the Verizon Wireless Center.
He also pleaded guilty in August to a felony third-degree assault charge related to that incident.
