WALDORF — A combine in a cornfield sparked a fire Wednesday afternoon that Waldorf and Janesville fire departments battled for a couple of hours.
Waldorf Fire Chief Adam Groskreutz said Janesville’s department was still finishing up at the scene just after 4 p.m. Groskreutz said he didn’t yet know the size of the area engulfed by the fire or if structures were damaged on the property.
The dry weather conditions contributed to the cause of the fire.
