MANKATO — A former Hanska man who is accused of assaulting his girlfriend and refusing to bring her home after she broke up with him has been added to Mankato’s Most Wanted list.
Brandon Michael Hall, 29, has been charged with felony kidnapping and making terroristic threats for the June 27 incident. He is also facing gross misdemeanor charges of domestic assault and interfering with a 911 call.
The victim called Mankato police from her residence at about 9:45 p.m. on June 27 to report Hall had assaulted her while she and her daughter were with him. They had gone to Bray Park on Madison Lake earlier that day and, while they were driving back to Mankato, she told Hall she was ending her relationship with him.
“Hall became enraged and began driving between 70 and 80 mph,” the criminal complaint said. “(The victim) stated she was afraid for her daughter because of Hall’s behavior.”
She reported Hall eventually stopped the car in the Sakatah Trail parking lot off Lime Valley Road and started calling her vulgar names. After she slapped him, he allegedly hit her in the head with a closed fist and threatened to kill her in front of her daughter.
Hall drove around Mankato for more than 30 minutes after she demanded to be brought home, the complaint said. Her head was bleeding and she used a towel to attempt to stop the bleeding. She said Hall told her to put the towel down so people they passed couldn’t see that it was soaked in blood.
When Hall eventually brought her home, he went inside with the victim. Her mother was home at that time and told Hall, who doesn’t have a permanent address, to gather his belongings and leave.
A warrant was requested for Hall’s arrest Monday after police were unable to locate him. He was added to the city’s Most Wanted list Thursday.
