As far as Sharon Berg can tell, Odin area residents won’t have to wait longer to get their mail if Odin’s post office closes its doors.
But having served as postmaster for a number of years, she knows the inconvenience it will be for senior citizens to travel to buy stamps or mail packages. And she also knows what a loss it will be as a daily gathering place to chat and also as an icon of the community.
Berg and the 300 or so other residents in the Odin area served by the post office (110 in Odin proper) received letters recently stating the Odin post office would close in three months.
