Six people arrested after fight at park

MANKATO — Six people were arrested Sunday after a fight broke out after a soccer game in Land of Memories park in Mankato.

Police got a call around 6 p.m. about the fighting, which was stopped by the time they arrived, Mankato police Cmdr. Pam Hermanson said.

Police recovered two improvised weapons at the scene — a screwdriver and a tire iron — though no one was hurt, she said.

Some of those arrested were being held overnight, but some had been released.

Hermanson said Sunday night she wasn’t sure what charges police would request, but said at least disorderly conduct seemed likely with perhaps more serious charges for those who had brandished weapons.
