MANKATO — A 48-year-old Mankato man has been arrested for making repeated non-essential 911 phone calls.
Police said David Zahler, 307 East Elm St., was taken into custody at 7:40 p.m. Sunday following a string of belligerent, harassing, obscenity-laced calls fielded by public safety dispatchers.
Police said alcohol appeared to be a factor in the incident.
Zahler faces a misdemeanor charge for misuse of the emergency communications system
Suspicion arose when loose presciption pills were found on the floor.

MADISON LAKE — Standing on his property on the north shore of Ballantyne Lake holding a letter saying he had three days to report to the jail for fingerprinting and a mugshot, Jim Kimble said he wasn't sure why he is being treated like a criminal.
