Postal postal clerk indicted for theft

LEWISVILLE — A 60-year-old Lewisville woman was indicted in federal court Tuesday for allegedly stealing $41,000 while working for the postal service.

Linda Kay Johnson is accused of stealing 80 money orders between August and December in 2008. She’s also accused of making false entries in the office books to cover up the thefts from the United States Postal Service.

Johnson was working as a substitute postmaster at the La Salle post office when the thefts occurred. She is charged with one count of fraudulently issuing money orders and one count of false entries and reports of money.
