Flooding shuts down area roads and trails


MANKATO — Flooding on roadways is causing several area highways to close.

Highways 19 and 93 (from Henderson to Highway 169 and rom Highway 169 to LeSueur) will remain closed until further notice, which could be one to two weeks.

Flooding on roadways is causing several road closures in Blue Earth County.

Motorists are asked to avoid these areas and report any other roadways covered by water by calling 911.

The following roads were closed as of Thursday, though the list is subject to change and will be updated at www.co.blue-earth.mn.us:

• County Road 159 - by the bridge • C

• County Road 189 - east of CR 26

• County Road 136 - at Becker's Bridge near CR 10

• County Road 141 – loop from State HWY 169

Flooding on roadways is causing several road closures in Brown County.The following roads were closed as of 4 p.m. Thursday, though the list is subject to change:



• County Road 8 - From 360th Street to Minnesota River

• City Street - Cottonwood Street (AKA Poor Farm Road) by Cottonwood River.

• County Road 10 - aproximately 1 1/2 miles east of Highway 4 and approximately 1/2 mile west of Highway 4 by the Minnesota River.

• Township Road -290th Avenue between County Road 20 and 150th Street at the Little Cottonwood River.

• Township Road -300th Avenue between County Road 20 and 150th Street at the Little Cottonwood River.

• Township Road - Grandview Road between County Road 24 and 180th Avenue at the Little Cottonwood River.

Due to flooding, public works staff has closed some of its trails.

Kiwanis (south to Highway 14); Main (south to Sibley Park-Ott cabin); entrance at Mound and Sibley Parkway is closed. Land of Memories Park is closed until further notice. Seven Mile Park in Nicolelt County is closed at both entrances.
