MANKATO —
Rasmussen College will host a free Career and Networking Fair 2:30-5 p.m. today for residents of the surrounding communities.
Companies from a variety of industries will be present and looking to fill positions with qualified candidates. Featured businesses include Mankato Clinic, HickoryTech, Wells Federal Bank, Winland Electronics Inc. and Lime Valley Advertising Inc.
Rasmussen College representatives also will be on hand to provide information about master’s degree programs offered through the Rasmussen Partner Network of schools, and bachelor’s and associate’s degree programs offered through the local campus, as well as career opportunities within the Rasmussen College system.
“While an economic recovery has begun, many Americans — including Mankato residents — remain unemployed,” Rasmussen College National Director of Career Development Tamryn Hennessy said in a statement. “We are honored to have the opportunity to showcase available jobs in the community and to help residents of Mankato and the surrounding area learn about positive steps they can take toward employment.”
The Rasmussen College Career and Networking Fair is part of a national event that will be held at all 21 campuses, providing an opportunity for the public to network with the local business community, while also highlighting a number of available full-time, part-time, volunteer and internship opportunities.
The most recent fair in February 2010 attracted more than 125 community members and representation from 36 local businesses.
