— Sibley County is among the 13 counties for which a major disaster was declared by Gov. Mark Dayton Friday after severe storms and flooding struck the state in June.
Sibley County had previously estimated about $80,000 in damage to public infrastructure.
This declaration allows the county to apply for assistance to repair or replace disaster-damaged facilities. The federal government typically funds 75 percent of the approved cost, and the remaining quarter is a state or local match.
Statewide, the storms caused an estimated $108 million in damage.
