MANKATO — A proposal to raise Mankato's tax levy by no more than 2.6 percent will go to the City Council for a vote next week.
There were no clear majorities on the council to either raise or lower that figure, though three council members were missing from Tuesday's work session.
The budget is something of a bare-bones document; it includes no new hires. Nearly half of the increase comes from payments on debt.
Authorities say remains are of 38-year-old Maverick Henry Arrowood.
Suit names Francis Markey, who was extradited to Ireland in 2010 to face sexual abuse charges there. He died a year before going on trial.
The debt study has already resulted in changed policies for new subdivisions.
