MANKATO — A Mankato bar owner has lost a legal challenge to a suspension that will hamper his business four days for a drink special violation.
The Mankato City Council suspended Dan Guimont's liquor license for Boomtown Bar in September, saying he would have to stop selling alcohol Oct. 31 through Nov. 3. The suspension resulted from a drink special that sold two drinks and a token for one price.
A 2007 city ordinance limits the number of drinks that can be sold for one price at two.
Guimont's attorney, Jim Fleming, challenged the suspension, saying the plastic tokens for a free drink aren't covered in the existing oridinance. A ruling from an adiministrative judge issued Wednesday said the suspension will stand, Fleming said.
