MANKATO — The rising Minnesota River resulted in a spate of deer-vehicle collisions Thursday between Mankato and St. Peter, and motorists are being urged to drive cautiously on area roads near rivers.
“We had six deer hit in 20 minutes between Mankato and St. Peter on Highway 169,” Minnesota Department of Transportation Highway Maintenance Supervisor Woody Woodruff said Thursday morning.
“They're moving to higher ground — and the higher ground is our roads.”
