Cart dare leads to DWI arrest

MANKATO — A 19-year-old Richfield man was arrested fro drunken driving early Sunday morning after he allegedly took a Highland Hills apartment complex golf cart for a spin.

Police officers watched as Matthew Steven Krohn allegedly pulled out on to Monks Avenue at about 3:15 a.m. before driving on to a boulevard and lawn of an apartment complex. After getting the cart stuck on a pile of gravel, Krohn allegedly attempted to run away before he was arrested without incident, a Mankato Department of Public Safety report said. Krohn told the officers he had been dared to take the cart.

Krohn was jailed pending requested charges of driving while intoxicated, fleeing on foot, obstruction, careless driving and underage drinking.
