MANKATO — A 20-year-old Mankato man was arrested at about 10 a.m. Saturday after police determined he was the driver who had fled from them during a vehicle chase nine hours earlier.
The chase started at about 1 a.m. Saturday after an officer attempted to stop the vehicle on Monks Avenue for a traffic violation. The driver sped away in the vehicle, turned on Stadium Road, stopped near the intersection with Heron Drive and fled on foot.
The area was searched, but the driver wasn't found. Officers learned the owner of the vehicle was 20-year-old Nathanial Michael-Jacob Hancock. He was found at his residence at 10 a.m. and officers determined he was the driver, a Police Department report said.
