ST. PAUL — Emily R. Kolbinger, daughter of Mike Kolbinger and Cathy Colby of Mankato, was named to the spring 2007 dean’s list at the College of St. Catherine.

Kolbinger is majoring in American Sign Language. She is a graduate of Mankato East High School.

MANKATO — Brian Knauss of Mankato passed the multi-engine instructor check ride on Aug. 1.

Knauss is an aviation student at Minnesota State University.

Owen Brian Krueger

MONTROSE — Owen Brian Krueger, son of Brian and Emie Krueger of Montrose, was born Sept. 13.

Grandparents are Richard and Karen Krueger of Mankato and Dave and Jean Schiller of Comfrey. Great-grandparents are Louis and Delores Schweim of Mankato.

MANKATO — The following Mankato students were named recipients of a scholarship from the College of Business at Minnesota State University: John Julian, son of Bob and Peggy Julian, $1,000 Paulsen Architects Business Scholarship; Mary Nelson, daughter of Dick and Ann Nelson, $1,000 Elmer T. and Nina C. Anderson Scholarship; Matthew Ruyter, son of Glen and Connie Ruyter, $4,000 a year for two years Mary Ella Jerome Family Foundation Scholarship; and Nick Wilson, son of Doug Wilson and Julie Boertje, $500 Management Faculty Student Scholarship.

BROOKINGS, S.D. — Jason Depuydt, son of Kevin and Gayle Depuydt of Mankato, was awarded the Yellow and Blue Scholarship at South Dakota State University.

MANKATO — The Minnesota State University Foundation honored its benefactors Sept 14 at the university.

The foundation named David and Debbi Andreas as its Philanthropists of the Year.

BEMIDJI — Sadie Knickrehm of North Mankato graduated from Bemidji State University with a master’s degree in sport studies.

NORTH MANKATO — Joe Thom of North Mankato earned the Eagle Scout award, the highest achievement offered by the Boy Scouts of America.

Thom was recognized during a ceremony Aug. 12. He is a member of Troop 24, where he served as troop guide, patrol leader and assistant senior patrol leader. He is also a Brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow. Thom collected and delivered more than 1,200 children’s books to the Red Cloud Mission School in Pine Ridge, S.D. He is a 2007 graduate of Loyola High School.

Andrew Schlosser

NORTH MANKATO — Andrew Schlosser of North Mankato earned the Eagle Scout award, the highest achievement offered by the Boy Scouts of America.

Schlosser was recognized during a ceremony Aug. 12. He is a member of Troop 24, where he served as patrol leader, assistant patrol leader, scribe, and troop guide. He is also a Brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow. Thom repaired and painted church windows and screens at the SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. He is a 2007 graduate of Loyola High School.

NORTH MANKATO — Bob Peterson of North Mankato has been named vice president of the World Drum Corps Hall of Fame executive committee.

Lafayette Charter School

NORTH MANKATO — Lafayette Charter School teachers Andrea Harder, Tally Clobes, Heather Winkelmann and Mary Schroeder attended Ag-Literacy at South Central College.

The four-day workshop focused on alternative fuels and where food really comes from.
