MANKATO — A man shot after an intense fight with two Mankato police officers in December didn’t have methamphetamine in his system, as family had suspected, according to reports released by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
Richard Thomas Vosburgh, 26, had been smoking marijuana before entering a second-floor apartment on Grove Street, threatening to sexually assault a woman who lived there and getting into a brutal fight with two police officers who responded to a 911 call by a second woman. That woman also lived in the apartment and had walked in on Vosburgh, who was completely naked, and her roommate before calling for help at about 11:50 p.m. Dec. 30.
