A 17-year-old from New Prague died in a motorcycle-service van collision about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon near Shoreland Country Club.
Jacob Freitag was ejected from a 1998 Suzuki when it collided with a 2008 Ford van owned by Centerpoint Energy. Rescue efforts were conducted, but Freitag died at the scene.
Le Sueur County deputies said Freitag was driving north on Le Sueur County Road 21 when the motorcycle struck the van as its driver, John Jensen, 45, of Mankato, was attempting a left-turn onto a private driveway at 33046 Marie Lane.
Jensen was not injured. Neither the motorcycle nor the van carried passengers.
