HUDSON, Wis. — A 19-year-old woman, who attended Minnesota State University last year, was found dead in a car in the parking lot of the St. Croix County Courthouse, the Hudson, Wis., police chief said Monday.
Chief Marty Jensen said investigators believe Kelly Lynn Dahm of St. Paul was killed Saturday afternoon in the car of her one-time boyfriend. She had been shot multiple times.
The one-time boyfriend, a 29-year-old man, was jailed in Washington County on a probation violation for being a felon in possession of a firearm. Officers were called to a home in Woodbury on Saturday night because the man was “acting strangely” and causing a disturbance, Jensen said.
That’s when investigators were asked to go to the courthouse parking lot in Hudson and check out a vehicle there, leading to the discovery of Dahm’s body in the front passenger seat, Jensen said.
The man and Dahm dated on and off for about two years and once lived together, Jensen said.
Dahm attended MSU in Mankato last year, but was not enrolled as a student for the 2008-2009 school year.
