Second stop sends suspect to jail

MANKATO — A 27-year-old law enforcement major at Minnesota State University may want to consider another career after being arrested Sunday.

Mohamed Mohamoud Ghedi, 27, had already been stopped once for driving after revocation Saturday night or Sunday morning when he parked next to a police squad car at the Kwik Trip on Monks Avenue at 3:06 a.m. Sunday. The officer in the squad car was the same officer who had stopped Ghedi about three hours earlier.

Ghedi initially told the officer he wasn’t the same man, resulting in a charge of providing false information to a police officer being added to the driving after revocation charges. Ghedi also was jailed “to ensure no more driving,” Mankato police said.
