Father accused
A rural Eagle Lake man was arrested Wednesday for a possible assault charge involving a gun after family disagreement.
A Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Department report said Eugene Ray Kopachek, 78, pulled a handgun on his 54-year-old son, Richard, after Richard Kopachek pushed a table into his mother. Richard Kopachek, who is deaf, was visiting his parents and became upset when they couldn’t understand him, the report said.
Second-degree assault charges have been requested for Eugene Kopachek and fifth-degree assault charges have been requested for Richard Kopachek. Eugene Kopachek was in jail Thursday awaiting charges.
