A judge sentenced a man from Savage to life in prison without the chance of parole in the shooting death of a woman he lured to his home with a baby-sitting ad on Craigslist.
The Scott County District judge sentenced 20-year-old Michael John Anderson on Wednesday morning. He was convicted of first-degree premeditated murder and other charges the night before.
In his closing, Scott County prosecutor Ron Hocevar told the jury Anderson simply wanted to kill someone on Oct. 25, 2007. She turned out to be 24-year-old Katherine Ann Olson.
Anderson didn't speak during the proceedings.
Anderson's attorney plans an appeal because he wasn't allowed to present evidence that Anderson has Asperger's syndrome, a form of autism.
