MANKATO — Stained hands were a clue police were looking for when they arrested a 21-year-old Minnesota Lake man for allegedly spray painting four cars parked at a Mankato bar Saturday.
Police were called to Mac’s Bar and Cafe after someone called at 10:44 p.m. to report the cars had been painted and someone had just left the scene, Mankato police said. A short time later an officer reported seeing a man matching the description going into a bathroom at the nearby Holiday convenience store on Riverfront Drive.
When James Michael Saari came out of the bathroom, the officer saw he had paint on his hands. He was arrested and appeared in court Monday for a felony charge of criminal damage to property.
