Burn victim recovering
A 21-year-old Minnesota State junior is recovering from serious burns suffered in a cooking fire in her apartment Friday.
Brittanie Jo Peterson of Savage was in satisfactory condition at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, a spokeswoman said this afternoon.
According to a roommate, Peterson had been frying wontons in a pan that overheated and filled the apartment with smoke. She was burned when hot oil splashed as she carried the flaming pan outdoors.
