Mail: The Mankato and North Mankato post offices and the Madison East branch will be closed Wednesday in observance of Veterans Day. Residential mail will not be delivered. Service windows will be closed and mail will not be sorted to lock boxes.
Free Press delivery: Mail subscribers of The Free Press will receive Wednesday’s edition on Thursday along with Thursday’s paper. The Free Press office is open Wednesday.
Libraries: Blue Earth County Library and North Mankato’s Taylor Library are closed Wednesday. (Taylor until Nov. 18 for construction.)
Parking: Timed public parking in Mankato will not be enforced.
Banking: Most financial institutions will be closed.
Buses: Greater Mankato Transit buses will be on holiday schedule Wednesday.
Emergency food: ECHO Food Shelf will be open.
Garbage: Mankato residents on Wednesday’s schedule will have their trash collected as usual.
Government: Federal, state, city and county offices are closed Wednesday.
Medical facilities: NOW Care, Mankato Clinic, Urgent Care and Immanuel St. Joseph’s Hospital will be open usual hours.
Shopping: Most major retail businesses and grocery stores are open.
Schools: Most area students will have classes Wednesday.
VINE: Transportation will be offered and offices will be open.
