TRUMAN — Jim Hagedorn, the son of former Congressman Tom Hagedorn, announced Wednesday he is entering the contest to become the Republican candidate against Democratic Rep. Tim Walz of Mankato.
Hagedorn grew up in rural Truman, spent more than two decades working in Washington, D.C., and has returned to Blue Earth in anticipation of his congressional run. He is the third Republican to enter the race, joining former state Rep. Allen Quist of rural St. Peter and state Rep. Randy Demmer of Hayfield.
