Mn's Jesson: Full speed ahead on state health care changes

Minnesota's human services commissioner says the Supreme Court's ruling upholding the federal health care overhaul doesn't change anything in Minnesota.

Lucinda Jesson says the state will keep planning to further expand Medicaid and to develop an online health insurance marketplace.

Gov. Mark Dayton last year used the federal law to extend Medicaid to 84,000 adults earning less than $8,400 a year. Starting in 2014, the federal law will have the federal government pay to cover adults with incomes up to about $14,000.

Jesson says the Supreme Court decision gives state leaders certainty as they move ahead on their efforts.
